Sundance Institute Announces 10 Films and Art House Theaters for Sundance Film Festival USA on Jan. 31

The Sundance Institute has announced the ten films and ten art house theater across the country that will participate in this year’s “Sundance Film Festival USA.” Each theater will play host to one film and also its filmmaker, who will introduce the screening and take part in an audience Q&A afterward. The films are all chosen from this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

“Sundance Film Festival USA celebrates the theaters and audiences that are an integral part of supporting and encouraging the work of independent filmmakers,” said Robert Redford, president and founder of the institute. “By extending the Festival to these 10 cities, we will create a larger shared experience and dialogue around the issues of our time, as explored in these films.”

The ten theaters and films selected are:

Ann Arbor, MI: The Michigan Theatre – The East

Boston, MA: Coolidge Corner Theatre – The Lifeguard

Brooklyn, NY: BAM – Kill Your Darlings

Chicago, IL: Music Box Theatre – Touchy Feely

Houston, TX: Sundance Cinemas Houston – Ain’t Them Bodies Saints

Los Angeles, CA: Sundance Sunset Cinema – Afternoon Delight

Nashville, TN: Belcourt Theatre – Mother of George

Orlando, FL: Enzian Theater – A.C.O.D.

San Francisco, CA: Sundance Kabuki Cinemas – In a World…

Tucson, AZ: The Loft – The Spectacular Now
